Tip 411
Introduced
in October 2010, this web-based Text-a-Tip system allows citizens to
anonymously report messages to the police via text messages.
This media allows a police investigator to "chat" with an anonymous
tipster concerning unsolved crime, to report weapons, drugs and
narcotics and other suspicious activity not in progress.
Tips generated in other police agencies across the country have been
beneficial in leading to the arrest of dangerous felons. Although new,
we hope this system will mirror the successes of other communities.
