Metro Boston Homeland Security Community Awareness Training

The Everett Police Department presents the Metro Boston Homeland Security Community Awareness Training program. The goal of the training is to provide you the citizen, as our first line of defense, with the knowledge and tools needed to help keep Everett safe.

      Metro Boston Homeland Security Community Awareness Training program is presented in 3 modules and takes approximately 4 hours to complete. Training sessions are flexible and can be scheduled for a single or two sessions.

  Module 1 provides participants with an overview of terrorism

Defines Terrorism

Emphasizes the important role of a citizen in preventing terrorism

Emphasizes the fact that suspicion is not based upon race, gender, religion, or ethnicity but upon behavior

Provides information on terrorist precursor activities

  Module 2 provides information about recognizing suspicious activity

What is suspicious activity

Types of suspicious activity to look for

How to Report suspicious activity

What happens after you report suspected terrorist activity

  Module 3 provides information about Personal Preparedness and Protection

How to keep yourself and family safe

How to develop a personal and family emergency plan

How to prepare “Go” or “Stay” kits

Familiarizes participants with the Homeland Security Advisory System

All successful participants will receive a certificate of completion
