K-9 Unit
Sergeant Panzini and Niko are part of the K-9 Unit. Niko is a three
year old Chec
Sheppard. He was raised in Czechoslovakia, and was
sent to the United Stated
in 2004, where he became a member of the
Everett
Police. Sergeant Panzini, a ten year veteran of the Everett Police,
was
trained with Niko for
narcotics search, recovery, and utility work.
Niko is also capable of tracking
and locating missing persons. Sergeant
Panzini and Niko were trained
on search and detection through the
Middlesex County Sheriff's
Department, and trained in utility work
with the
Massachusetts State Police.
K-9 Unit
Officer Rizza and Warner are a part of the K-9
Unit,
specializing in explosive detection. Warner is a 3 year old
yellow Labrador retriever. Warner was raised in Virginia,
and was given to the Everett Police in 2006, from the
ATF.
Officer Rizza trained with Warner for explosive search and
detection at the ATF training facility in Front Royal
Virginia. Warner is capable of detecting, approximately
twenty types of explosives, guns and ammunition.
