Portal to Hope is a
non-profit, public service organization that provides comprehensive
service programs to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault
crimes. Portal to Hope was founded in November, 1996, by a survivor of
domestic violence whose case involved the state conviction and a
subsequent federal deportation of her abuser. The organization
operates via the generosity and kind support of more than fifty (50)
volunteers who participate in the following service programs: |

COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAM
Portal to Hope offers free, quarterly public educational forums in
Everett, Lynn and Malden.
Public speakers and trainers are available for other educational
efforts (including programs sponsored by, community and religious
groups, social clubs, etc.) Speakers also provide presentations to
area schools and assist in law enforcement training.

COUNSELING PROGRAM
Free counseling is offered to clients who qualify for this program.
|
 |
LEGAL SERVICES PROGRAM
Court/victim advocacy is offered to victims of violent crimes. Free
legal services are offered to clients who qualify for this program.

HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Shelter and housing search/placement is available to clients.
|
 |
JOB PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Job skills training searches are offered to clients.

SUPPORT GROUPS
Women's confidential support groups meet on Tuesday evenings from
7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in Lynn and on Wednesday
evenings from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in Malden. Men's
confidential support groups are offered by appointment in Lynn.

YOUTH MENTOR SERVICES
Youth support counseling services are offered by appointment in
Lynn.

BENEVOLENCE PROGRAM
Liaison with food pantries and collection of furniture and clothing
for the needy. |

BATTERER'S INTERVENTION PROJECT
Speakers provide our "From A Victim's Perspective" talks to
batterers at various correctional facilities.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
Volunteers are always welcome! |

Police Department, Portal to Hope is headquartered at the Everett Police
Department.
